So I am going to be blunt here.

- Periods

- Menstrual Cycles

- That Time of the Month

- Visit from Aunt Flo

- On the Rag (Honestly have NEVER used that one before)

- The Red Badge of Courage (Sounds like I am fighting a freaking war)

- Whatever other weird term you use to talk about this taboo issue


I was one that had terrible horrible no good very bad periods. It was always heavy and I was always having the worst cramps and headaches and nausea. My hormones were bounding off the walls - legitimately. I hated my period.


I don't think I have ever met anyone who enjoys their period, personally everyone I know hates theirs with a burning passion. However, I know that technically speaking if you were to eat healthier foods and work out ON YOUR period, that the cramps will lessen.


For the longest time I called BS, like I will never ever willing choose to work out and do crunches and push ups and running while on the rag.


BUT


It works. I know it seems like that's the last thing anyway should do but it worked. I noticed that my periods were better and way more tolerable. Also after working out so regularly I miss it and do not want to go a week without working out. Yes sometimes its heavier and I will go a tad bit easier than what i would normally do. But I don't postpone my workouts just because aunt flo is visiting.


Overall I learned its not actually BS - there is a lot of truth to it. It depends on each person and will differ. How this affects me is different t how it might affect you or a friend.


So bleeding? In Pain? Go to the gym. ;)
