Being active helps.

I could list scientific facts and studies that have proven that an increase of exercise related active helps level out the imbalances in the brain that causes a lot of mental health related issues.

BUT

Instead let me tell you that I was a disbeliever for a while and I would hate it when people would tell me to take a walk or go for a run when I was anxious or depressed. I was of the thought process that no way in hell would that help solve ALL my issues. Well guess what? You don't need to solve all your problems, working out won't solve them either.

Working out and staying active (going on walks or runs) helps balance you so you can begin to deal with your problems. You can't work through your emotions if there is nothing helping to control them. I have noticed a significant difference in my anxiety since I have begun working out and eating healthier.

It works. Its not a fix all type thing, its something you can use to help you so that YOU can help yourself and work on fixing your problems for yourself.

Give it a try, the worse that can happen is that you get some fresh air and re - oxygenate that blood. Or you could find a balance and a crutch to help you slowly work through you pain/illness.
